Why do I Need the New System
This is where you need to define the clear benefits your business will enjoy in moving from your current system. This could range from a simple Accounting System together with custom Spread sheets all the way through to an existing ERP, and CRM system. We all know the pressures that businesses face today to remain competitive, and Management needs to appreciate the benefits of employing a new system prior to opening dialogue with Software Vendors. I can't stress enough the importance of all stake holders within the organisation being as one on the benefits to their Enterprise.
Plans and Specifications of the eBusinessERP System
This is no different than trying to build a new house without any detailed Plans and Specifications. Unless you are building a hut on a deserted island, this is a recipe for disaster. You would employ an experienced Architect/Designer so as to communicate your requirements to the Builder and trades people. Without this essential documentation building a home would be extremely difficult and costly. Do not underestimate the value of experienced Consultants that have developed complex Specifications and been involved in the implementation of ERP systems in the past.
The preparation of the Specifications will enable you to clarify what your Goals are for the implementation of your new ERP system.
